Autumn Leaves. 3 strand Citrine, Garnet, Moonstone, Mookite and Agate necklace
Autumn Leaves was inspired by the amazing leaf colors and this pretty Mookite teardrop pendant. The leaf photos are from my neighborhood and also from Washington state! The colors are everywhere.
The short strand of Faceted Moonstone and Garnets is 17 1/2 inches long and the longest one of Wooden Agate, Garnet and the teardrop is 20 3/4 inches long. I used garnet colored glass spacer beads and a Gold Filled brass slide and lock clasp at the ends.
firemountaingems.com says, "Its name is derived from the Latin word citrina because of its pale yellow citrus color (due to its iron content). From the earliest times, citrine was called the "sun stone" and believed to hold sunlight, offering protection from snakebites. The stone’s golden hue linked it to wealth and prosperity, earning it the nickname merchant’s stone. To the Romans, it was associated with Mercury, the messenger god, and commonly used to carve intaglios.
Citrine meaning is often connected to joy, abundance, and positivity. This golden gemstone is known as the success stone, the merchant’s stone and the money stone—each name reflecting its reputation for attracting prosperity and uplifting energy. Citrine meaning also ties into its symbolism as the November birthstone and its association with the zodiac sign Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21). Believed to radiate sun-like warmth, citrine is thought to brighten moods and inspire a more optimistic outlook.
This vibrant yellow gem is linked with personal power, motivation and creativity. Many wearers and designers believe citrine promotes emotional well-being, attracts prosperity and encourages positive communication."
"The deep, glossy red color of garnet resembles the juicy seeds of a pomegranate, which is perhaps why its name is derived from the Latin word granatum (meaning “pomegranate seed”). In Greek mythology, a pomegranate was often given as a gift of passion and associated with eternal love. In ancient history, travelers wore garnet gemstones because they were believed to light up the night and provide protection from nightmares and accidents.
Garnet symbolizes a quick return to a separated love, fertility and feminine life force.
Legend states that Hades gifted a pomegranate to Persephone before she left his domain to ensure a speedy and safe return. When she did return, the fruit transformed into a handful of the red gemstones.
A garnet stone is often gifted to a loved one before they embark on travel. One of the most commonly believed garnet properties is that the stones aid in the healing of broken bonds of love. Garnets are also known to aid in the treatment of melancholy and depression by acting as a heart and blood stimulant.
Garnet is thought to be extremely beneficial in the realm of business. The stone can attract people to the wearer, which can help provide personal and business success. It is especially beneficial to people wanting to start home businesses." It is January's birthstone.
"Multicolored moonstone is a medley of shimmering peach, cream and silver. The scientific term for the kind of shimmer—a moving floating light or sheen—that gives this stone its magical look is schiller or adularescence. It comes from two types of feldspar growing into or weaving through each other as the crystal forms. Of course, when you're wearing moonstone, those scientific things don't matter. You just revel in that lovely shimmer.
Moonstone meaning, by its very name, has been connected to the moon and to the subconscious and unconscious. It is believed to encourage lucid dreaming and promote emotional openness to new experience. This openness is part of how moonstone is thought to relieve stress—by calming the mind and soothing the spirit. Gem therapists and Ayurvedic doctors even use a specific form of moonstone (called godanti) to cure anxiety and strengthen the will. Moonstone meaning is also linked to new beginnings, boosting intuition, and gently easing stress while fostering a sense of inner peace.
Moonstone is a multi-use material, affiliated by color with a range of chakras. Peaches to the sacral for reproductive health, whites to the crown chakra for spiritual or psychic experiences, greys to the heart for emotional changes. Women are sometimes recommended to remove moonstone during the full moon.
This gem is an alternate birthstone for June, popular with Geminis and Cancers. It is considered a birthstone for June in Tibetan lore and for September in Ayurvedic healing."
"Mookaite jasper, sometimes spelled moukaite, is a uniquely Australian stone found exclusively near Mooka Station, a vast sheep farm in Western Australia where it was first identified. Like other jaspers, its name traces back to ancient language roots describing spotted or patterned stones. Across history, jasper was prized for both beauty and symbolism—used in ceremonial objects, carved seals and protective adornments by early civilizations. Some Indigenous cultures also believed jasper held properties linked to the land, water and natural balance.
Moukaite jasper meaning is linked to nurturing our inner desire for calm with our outer desires, shielding us from dangerous situations and balancing those tendencies with the desire for variety, adventure and new experiences. Thought to be physically stabilizing, moukaite jasper meaning is associated with bringing well-being, strengthening the immune system, healing wounds and purifying the blood. Moukaite jasper is believed to be a healing stone of Mother Earth, containing sacred earth energies that can be harnessed for healing the plane."
