Feeling Western. 3 strands of Green Turquoise and Red Coral

Feeling Western. 3 strands of Green Turquoise and Red Coral
Feeling Western is a unique Green Turquoise and Red Coral triple strand necklace with 4 shapes and sizes of the Green Turquoise and a beautiful teardrop center bead. I also used Delica Glass spacer beads and a silver toned slide and lock clasp. The shortest strand is 16 1/2 inches without the center focal drop. The longest strand is 22 inches long.
I love the contrast between the greens and the Red Coral (which was color enhanced)! It makes Feeling Western very festive and it feels both Western and Holiday in it's design.
firemountaingems.com says, "Turquoise, a stone ranging in color from blue to green to yellow, is filled with wonderful patterns of brown and black matrix that are composed mainly of copper deposits. Although Turquoise has captivated man's imagination for centuries, no one is sure exactly when it was discovered. It is believed that prehistoric people used and prized it for its blue-green colors, because carved pieces have been found in burial and archeological sites spanning the globe.
The beauty and history of Turquoise is hard to match! Steeped in history and intrigue, it is truly a captivating stone. It has been used in religion, art, trade, treaty negotiations and of course as treasured jewelry to many kingdoms and peoples. Whether you study ancient Egyptians, Chinese Dynasties, Aztec Mythology or Native American people, it seems clear that turquoise has always been and always will be considered a stone of life, beauty and good fortune.
Turquoise is one of the official birthstones for the month of December and is heralded as the stone of communication. It is thought to encourage enthusiasm, thus inspiring new projects and bringing to light undiscovered artistic abilities. Turquoise is also believed to provide understanding and encourage attention to detail while attracting prosperity and success.
The sprawling lines of coppery matrix provide a large amount of energy to its wearer. This may be one reason why the stone has long been prized as a powerful talisman with healing properties."
It's said that wearing Turquoise can bring the "Wisdom of the Ancient Ones" to those who wear it!
"In many cultures, Coral meaning is associated with protection, vitality and safe travel across water. Coral jewelry has been found in ancient Egyptian and prehistoric European burials and was especially popular during the Victorian age. Ancient Egyptians used coral pieces in tombs as protection against evil spirits in the afterworld, as it is believed to contain a drop of divine blood. There was significant trade in coral between the Mediterranean and India at the beginning of the first millennium.
The Gauls often used coral as ornamentation for their helmets and weapons, believing it was a protective stone. The Romans hung branches of coral around the necks of their children to protect them from danger. In the early 20th century, the people of Italy used coral for protection from the "evil eye" and as a treatment for infertility.
Precious coral or red coral is the common name given to Corallium rubrum and several related species of marine coral. In the trade, Corallium rubrum is sometimes referred to as "noble coral" and is considered to be the most desirable type of coral for jewelry.
Coral is highly prized as a substance believed to be endowed with mysterious sacred properties. Coral meaning can include modesty, wisdom, happiness and immortality. It is commonly known to remedy spasms in the intestines, sleeplessness and bladder stones.
Coral can reduce stress and fears and combats foolishness, nervousness, fear, depression, panic and nightmares. Coral is used to attract success and wealth and strengthens foresight. Coral is a good aid for meditation or visualization."
